Here is the line-up for January 2010
Appearing in our morning concert at 10h30 on Thursday 14 January 2010 is the Molino Ensemble, consisting of Dianne Mitchell Baker (flute/piccolo), Sandra Orchard (violin/viola), and Richard Turner (classical guitar/clarinet). Dianne passed all her flute exams at the University of Stellenbosch with distinction, and studied at the Vienna Conservatoire of Music. Sandra holds diplomas from the Royal Schools of Music and Trinity College. Richard studied at the Vienna Conservatoire and the Royal Academy of Music. Their programme will include works by Francesco Molino, Beethoven and Weil.
Tickets, inclusive of tea served afterwards, are R50.
Our evening concert on at 20h00 on Wednesday 27 January 2010 features Polina Burdukova (cello), and Kerryn Wisniewsky (piano). Russian-born Polina studied music in Moscow, Ghent and London. She has appeared with the Rome Festival Orchestra, and received the SAMRO awards in 2004 and 2008. From 2001 to 2005 she was Co-Principal Cello in the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra. Kerry was awarded the Pretorium Trust Bursary in 1995, and won the UNISA Overseas Music Scholarship in 1997. She has appeared with all the major orchestras in South Africa. Their programme will include works by Brahms, Schumann and Chopin.
Tickets, inclusive of snacks served at interval, are R105.
